The complete set of eight rare British circulating coins from 1926
All coins
are heritage items painstakingly sourced by our experts and chosen for their
excellent condition. These
coins are all originals, not copies or reproductions and incredibly, are now
nearly 100 years old.
The set
comprises five silver coins and three bronze coins all of them from 1926 - the
silver half-crown, florin, shilling, sixpence (‘lucky’ silver sixpence) and
threepence (of the kind baked into Christmas puddings). There are also the
three bronze denominations, each of them proudly featuring Britannia seated
holding a trident: the penny, half-penny and farthing (quarter penny).
The
obverses feature the famous MacKennal effigy of King George V and on the
reverses are the magnificent original Royal Mint heraldic coin designs now
sadly lost from our coinage.
Presented
in a bespoke Presentation Box, each coin is individually encapsulated to
protect and preserve it for future generations. Each set
includes a Certificate of Authenticity booklet with fascinating information on
the coins and the life of Queen Elizabeth II.
