To coincide with the 75th Anniversary of D-Day, a magnificent new coin has been officially approved by Buckingham Palace for release - The Normandy Drop Fice Crown Coin
Seventy-Five years ago, at H-Hour the order went out to the waiting troops. The command turned the 6th of June 1944 from an ordinary summer’s day into a defining date in British history. The Allied Forces came by land, sea and air; men and machines emerged from the sea framed by the distant backdrop of England’s shoreline. They stormed the heavily fortified coastline of Occupied France in Normandy.
Struck-on-the-day - a coin that takes its place in history
What makes this coin truly exceptional is that it is a struck on day issue - issued on one day only - the day of the 75th Anniversary of D-Day, 6th June 2019.
Just 1,944 coins will be struck on 6th June 2019 - a historic minting that can never be repeated.
Immortalising the day, the ‘Normandy Drop’ this Five Crown Coin is struck to an immaculate proof finish. Proof finish coins are the highest possible quality, most coveted by collectors, each coin is struck not once, but twice onto a specially prepared mirror-like blank. Providing a deeper and clearer relief, that showcases the artistry of the design.
Minted in a ‘supersize’ 65mm
The impressively large diameter (almost three times larger than a £1 coin) allows for exquisite detail and clarity. The coin comes presented in a bespoke presentation case individually encapsulated to protect and preserve it for future generations to admire and enjoy. Included with your coin is an informative Certificate of Authenticity.
Each coin is individually numbered
Most significantly of all, each edition is uniquely numbered within the edition limit – which means no two pieces are the same. Your piece is completely unique to you making it the ultimate collectors’ edition. A strict application procedure is in place with priority established on a ‘first come first served basis’. The earliest orders will receive the lowest edition numbers.
