Crafted in 22-carat Gold — Just 840 Coins were approved for release
With a dual portrait design, the coin features on its reverse a specially commissioned design of Her Majesty at the time of her Accession 70 years ago – inspired by the first ‘Gillick’ coinage designs of the Queen’s reign showing a laurel wreath on Her Majesty’s head. The obverse shows a respectful and contemporary portrait of our dignified Head of State as she celebrated her Platinum Jubilee. This is the first time these two portraits have been used on a Gold Quarter Sovereign.

Sovereigns are one of the most celebrated coins in the world. For centuries, sovereigns have been handed down from generation to generation as a way of preserving our history.
